When eaten raw, is a good source of folic acid. Cabbage is well-known for its health benefits, among these: reducing the risk of colon, breast, uterus or ovarian cancer; reducing risk of heart disease or stroke; alleviate rheumatism and skin problems; protecting against free radicals, and is an excellent source of Vitamin C and beta-carotene.  Cabbage is also low in calories.
